The Department of Tourism, Commerce and Crafts of the Sardinia Region together with CIPNES,

promoter of the INSULA territorial marketing program,

promoted the launch of the TEM Sardinia 2022 event with a program divided into three days of meetings

on the organization of experiential tourism in Sardinia, hence the name TEM (Tourism Experience Management).

It is an interaction platform between operators in the world of holidays

nationally and internationally (tour operators, travel agencies and the media), together with all the players

of the Sardinian territorial system (tourist-accommodation facilities, local authorities, integrated tourist services).

TEM is a place for training and information, a point of sharing and building a product

of experiential marketing divided by thematic format and customized by target focus.

An experiential journey "to discover a world called Sardinia".

TEM Sardinia has been divided into 4 identity and experiential worlds:

    - Food and Wine Tourism

    - Archaeological tourism

    - Active and sport tourism

    - Religious Tourism and Popular Traditions

The paths of food and wine tourism have been presented under different facets:

stands dedicated to the identifying dishes of our cuisine, made following tradition and with surprising reinterpretations.

Courses, masterclasses, guided tastings, cooking shows, presentation of identity chains and workshops.

It was an unmissable opportunity to experience the typical experiences of local educational tours

directly in the external area of the covered promenade at the Bastione, the heart of Cagliari.

There were many excellent products of Sardinian food and wine such as wines (such as Cannonau, recognized as the oldest in the Mediterranean area)

    craft beers, sheep, goat, vaccine, mixed and fresh cheeses that dominate the table and enrich the recipes most loved by tourists and locals;

Saffron of Sardinia DOP, bottarga, honey in all its essences of taste and bread, an important presence on the Sardinian table and much more.

The world of Sardinian archeology and culture was presented as an enveloping journey to tell the story of a people in a mix of past and present.

The paths of archaeological tourism included info-points with expert guides,

Sardinian carpet, coral and ceramic workshops, stands dedicated to experiential itineraries and immersive stations of augmented and virtual reality.

Among the most loved by visiting tourists, the more than 3500 domus de Janas scattered throughout the area: underground universes hidden by the Mediterranean maquis which,

according to popular legends, they are home to tiny fairies called Janas, busy weaving gold threads in the light of the moon and watching over the sleep of children.

For this strong spiritual and symbolic value, the Fairy Houses have become sacred places where the pre-nuragic men kept their loved ones waiting for the journey

towards the afterlife and today they represent majestic places to visit immersed in nature. (Necropolis of Montessu, S'incantu – Necropolis of Monte Siseri…).

Participating in TEM gave guests the opportunity to live an immersive Active Tourism experience through augmented virtual reality.

Sardinia has so much to offer when it comes to outdoor sports, adventure, outdoor activities and excursions! Lovers of trekking, quads, excursions on horseback, bicycles, motorcycles, off-road vehicles,

canyoning and climbing will certainly not remain idle.

You can count on an infinite number of itineraries, all characterized by fantastic panoramas and unforgettable itineraries – you just need to know where to find them and know how to offer them to the right person, at the right time.

Trekking lovers will love the guided excursions in Barbagia, Supramonte or Ogliastra. The bravest and most trained can face one of the most coveted and spectacular destinations: the Gorroppu canyon.

The thick Mediterranean maquis populates the most diverse scenarios, from the whitest sand dunes to the almost wild hills full of narrow dirt paths: a true paradise for quad lovers.

Those who prefer horse riding will adore exploring the unspoiled nature on the back of magnificent specimens, exploring the coasts surrounded by Mediterranean scrub,

immersed in a breathtaking panorama. A characteristic experience, which takes us back to the origins of the millennial relationship that exists in Sardinia between man and horse.

Paths and itineraries for those who love climbing abound in every area of the island, from the high cliffs of Capo Caccia or Cala Gonone, overlooking the sea,

to the walls of the Sardinian inland areas, while cyclists and motorcyclists are spoiled for choice: all the coasts of the island can in fact be practicable by bike or motorbike along roads overlooking the sea, or near the beaches.

The paths of religious significance, the pilgrimage destinations, the places of the spirit and, more generally, all the manifestations of a national or

on the theme of cultural-religious tourism represent an important strength for the tourist offer of Sardinia.

For this reason, one of the themes of the fair was dedicated to Religious Tourism and popular traditions.

To mention some of the best known paths of faith, there is the pilgrimage of Pope Francis in Sardinia

    for Our Lady of Bonaria; the mining one of Santa Barbara, patroness of miners, in the province of Carbonia-Iglesias; the path of San Giorgio, bishop of Suelli;

the path of Santu Jacu, which crosses the whole island and retraces the places of worship of San Giacomo; the very famous Sant'Efisio, protagonist of the patronal feast of

Cagliari held in May. There is also a "Route of the martyrs", linked to the life and places where their relics are found.

The religious festivals on the island are events of extraordinary popular participation, in balance between faith and devotion, folklore and tradition, and are experienced with great emotional intensity.

Among the most representative we must certainly mention:

    - The procession of carts, knights, devotees and pilgrims which accompanies the simulacrum of Sant'Efisio to Nora on May 1st.

On this occasion, the City of the Sun honors its patron saint, a martyr saint who, according to tradition, freed Cagliari from the plague.

    - The feast dedicated to Christ the Redeemer has been celebrated on Monte Ortobene for over a century, on 29 August in Nuoro.

At the foot of the large statue of Jesus, which was placed in 1901, a large crowd of faithful and many tourists gather to take part in one of the most significant religious events in Sardinia.

    - The Sagra dei Candelieri, held on 14th August in Sassari.

According to tradition, she was born to thank the Virgin for having freed the city from a terrible plague that occurred in the sixteenth century,

which had decimated the population. The delivery ceremony of the Golden and Silver Candlesticks is always held in the evening.

    - The barefoot race of Cabras, procession on the first Saturday of September and return, the following Sunday,

it is a historical-religious commemoration of the defense of the statue of the Saint in 1619 by the "Scalzi" against an invasion by the Moors.

The pavilion of religious paths and popular traditions was enriched by the presence of craftsmen

which showed various processes, including the embroidery of precious Sardinian shawls.

In the Garden area, at the gates of the fair, the Sardinia Village designed by Insula was set up, where the exhibition of Sardinian Master Craftsmen and Producers was set up.

Food and wine, fashion, art and design dominated the three days of the Fair, showing Sardinian excellence to the visiting public. The vertical loom of Nule, the ceramics, the clothes, the jewels

have been an integral part of the experiential path of the TEM Sardinia Fair, combined with food and wine,

among wines, beers, honey, saffron, pasta, bread and typical sweets.

Fashion shows, folk groups and musical groups from our island thrilled the public during the entertainment events

art of the three days of the Fair.
